This was to familiarize myself with the feeling of wearing handcuffs and locate the keyhole, and was also to gauge how long the air inside the bag could be breathed. The results were promising: I lasted about three minutes in the first two attempts, and in the third time, with a little push, I approached nearly four minutes. Should be enough time for me to unlock the handcuffs, right? The challenge began! In the first round, the key to the handcuffs was placed on the corner of a table. Wasn’t this a bit too easy? Carefully stepping ahead, turning, half crouching, I touched the corner of the table with my hands behind my back, and then I found the key. Unlocking was not a difficult task as I was already familiar with the keyhole position. So, after being sealed in the bag for two minutes, I freed myself. In the second round, the key was thrown on the ground, and I was directed to come over, sit down and search it. Darn, where’s the key? I seemed to have walked too far, and when I sat down, I inadvertently sat over the key. No wonder I couldn’t find it by searching the floor next to me. I didn’t have time to think too much and desperately pulled the key down. After this moment, my stamina was almost exhausted, the oxygen inside the bag was almost depleted, and the pervasive carbon dioxide made me suffer. My body couldn’t hold on anymore; I could only slowly slide down against the glass wall of the stairs and sit on the ground. In this video, Xiaoyu was wearing her freediving gear again and was really underwater in a bathtub. The video has only one cut in the middle due to a malfunction of the camera tripod, but Xiaoyu didn’t sit up when I was fixing the camera; in other words, Xiaoyu was underwater for about 15 minutes and breathing only through the snorkel! And more than just easy breathing: The open end of the snorkel was sealed by red electrical tape a few times. She can still breathe a little bit of leaked air, but the breathing resistance was so high that her exhalation can even open the purge valve of the snorkel. You can imagine how difficult she managed to survive underwater. Later I closed the snorkel with a plastic bag. This time there was no air leakage anymore, and she can only rebreathe the air inside the tiny air bubble. At the end, I pulled out her snorkel and pushed her head staying underwater… Apparently Xiaoyu choked on water at the end, but don’t worry, she is fine after the shooting!

    22 minutes    		  Xiaomeng Bagged Five Times - “You know, heat shrink bags do not really like bags”, said Xiaomeng after her last breathplay, “I can’t breathe. There is no air. You have to allow me to breathe, even if there is no oxygen in the air but only carbon dioxide…” Oh, really? Then let’s go for another session with normal bags. In our first video longer than 20 minutes, Xiaomeng is bagged for five times in a row! Dressed in a Japanese sailor uniform and bound to a chair by pink ropes, her head is first covered by a transparent plastic bag which is sealed by a pink collar. An easy one. The second scene is similar, although a hairnet is added on top of the bag to reduce its size. At the third time the bag is sealed by black tapes which make it tighter than using the collar, and the hairnet is also applied. In the fourth scene, an open-face hood is used to restrict the bag, forming only a small air pocket in front of her face, something that you barely see elsewhere. Lastly a black trash bag is used, together with both the tape and hood. Since she claims that she can enjoy rebreathing carbon dioxide, in most times she is allowed to get some fresh air only after three or even four minutes… Screaming, struggling, and exciting. Most of her body was wrapped already with cling film, and she was also fixed on a chair by the film. There was only a slit above her nose, and the slit was covered soon by another film strap. Sealing, struggling, screaming × N. I made the slit a little bigger to expose her mouth, put a ball gag in her mouth, and then covered her nose, mouth and the ball gag all together with cling film. Sealing, struggling, screaming × N. After taking a break she changed her posture. Now she was lying on the floor, wrapped by the cling film from head to toe, therefore completely mummified. The ball gag was still in her mouth, and I covered her nose, mouth and the ball gag for several other rounds. Sealing, struggling, screaming × N. She was wearing a Japanese one-piece school swimsuit “sukumizu” with her hands tied behind her back and legs tied to a chair, and went through a long breathplay “marathon” consisting of four sessions. Session 1: Xiaoyu was wearing a swim cap, goggles and ear plugs. Her mouth was taped by transparent film dressing so that she can only breathe with her nose. Then I controlled her breath using a nose clip. The timing was based on an eight-round O2 table training, starting from 25 second apnea with 5 second increment until 60 seconds. Between each apnea she can breathe for 10 seconds only. Session 2: The nose clip was kept on her nose and a small hole was poked in the film dressing to allow Xiaoyu to breathe. A piece of black bondage tape was used to cover the small hole, and she was asked to speak the alphabet from A to Z before the black tape can be removed for a while. This was repeated in 10 minutes. Session 3: The swim cap is removed, and the hole in the film dressing was stretched bigger to make her breathe more easily. A plastic bag was used for breathplay. The bag was soft and often stuck to her face when she was inhaling, leaving her breathless even though there was still fresh air in the bag. This session was again for 10 minutes. Session 4: Another 10 minutes session, with the soft bag replaced by a breathplay hood without breathing holes. After several times she was pushed near her limit at the end, and she even moved the chair she bound to during her struggling. At the end of the video some chat is recorded. She was quite happy with the sessions and liked the breathplay hood much better than the soft bag.
